I know nothing about the Indian culture or music, and I was a bit skeptical that a 4-hour subtitled movie filmed in India about CRICKET would be of interest to me. I loved every petite. Not only was this movie visually pretty and well paced, it also has a “edifying heart.” Although a classic sage of gallant popular folk rising up against oppressors, the sage is told with humor and affection and with an infectious joy and innocence that is very inspiring. One example of the director’s skill is that even though most of the film is concerned with cricket, a sport about which I know absolutely nothing, the movie never lags or slows down, but keeps an active prance.

The singing and dancing were very scrumptious. Even though I had never been exposed to Hindi singing before, my “Western” ears calm found the music very elegant.

I can peek why the actor who played Bhuvan is a astronomical star in India–very charismatic and charming, as well as very obliging looking.

Gauri’s jealousy over Bhuvan’s attentions towards Elizabeth is spectacularly portrayed in dance.

The sweeping cinematography creates a magical ambiance and seems to invoke a determined unity of purpose. The scrumptious wide shots are sumptuously filmed, completely moving your entire being. This movie will gain your complete attention, even through the Cricket scenes. One you drop in esteem with Gauri and Bhuvan, you rally to their cause and the sheer tension of the moments during the Cricket games keeps you completely entranced.

The treasure memoir is exotic, the choreography like you have never seen, the songs are intoxicatingly aesthetic with poetic lyrics. I’ve never imagined anyone could combine so many elements into one movie. Sports and a musical? It is unbelievable how Ashutosh Gowariker knows how to appeal to the human heart in such a contrivance as to combine a musical, political drama, universal emotions, poetry, community culture, romance, dance, artistic cinematography, patriotism and the brute strength of valor.

A movie that emerges slowly and works its design into your heart. First peeking out of the ground and then bursting into chunky bloom in moments of sheer beauty that will engage your breath away upright up to the moving climax.

I personally hold Chris Rock is the funniest comedian ever. I catch both Vol1 & Vol2 of “the Best of the Chris Rock Note”. The 2nd DVD deserves 4.5 out of 5 stars, without a doubt but the first volumne is pale in quality, length & divulge.

This seems to impartial be grabs of random pieces of his display and are bar far NOT “the best off”. The 2nd volumne has 55mins of skits and then another 45mins of his “Taxi Cab Driver Confessions” which alone almost makes the disk worth the occupy. This disk is honest a bad collection of skits from the prove, then 2 skits from the Taxi Cab. If you want a proper Chris Rock DVD, capture volumne 2, but pass this one up, its not worth it, not even with a less than (…) pricetag.

Chris Rock has proven himself to be a unbelievable comedian as well as a tremedous political satirist. The second fraction of the DVD is titled Beginners Stretch for Flexibility. It consists of one 30-minute stretch that includes a short relaxation exhaust at the kill. This one is a bit more appealing, but you feel SO great at the ruin.

On a daily basis, I do the floor stretch (10 minutes) after my cardio workout. This provides me with the best stretch. Every once in a while, I’ll do the standing stretch instead of the floor stretch. Sometimes only once a week and sometimes more, I do the 30-minute stretch. I especially admire to do the 30-minute stretch if I’ve had an especially stressful day or if I want to find really relaxed.

The best section of these stretches is that I can do them. They are not all super-easy, but all are doable–even for someone impartial starting out like me.

Caveats: Follow Tamilee’s suggestions in the introductions. As she says, always stretch to the point of tightness and never to the point of distress.

Additional Comments: You don’t need a lot of station for this routine. You should be able to lie down with your arms and legs extended, and you should be able to kneel and stretch forward.

Each routine is clear, although most stretch the same muscles: triceps, chest, hamstrings, quadriceps, etc. You can resolve to do any of the workouts separately or combine the Total Body Stretch segments. (You actually secure a great total body stretch if you do all three of them.) The Total Body Stretch are suited warm up or frosty down additions to your workouts. The Flexibility stretch is geared towards the kill of the day, since it includes a relaxation segment.

The stretches are held for a decent amount of time; they’re not very short, but they’re not very long. Once you know the routine, you’ll be able to travel into the stretch sooner and accumulate a few more seconds in.

The DVD allows you to take your workout, although I have anguish getting my disc to skip the introduction. You can settle alternate camera angles or the music only option. There is also an interactive request about flexibility and stretching.

Even if you’re not a fan of John Waters, which I am, this movie is worth seeing at least twice. Despite Melanie Griffith’s somewhat tepid acting,its absolute absurdity at times will have you laughing long and hard. And not only is it a spectacular comedy but, like all John Waters films, it’s got something to say. Cecil and the Sprocket-Holes’ absolute disgust of mainstream film, while taken to ridiculous measures, makes one think: Why ARE there so many movies based on video games? Why do we utter on re-making amazing foreign films objective so we don’t have to read subtitles? WHY ARE THERE TWO BRADY BUNCH MOVIES?????? Being something of a film coneisseur myself, as well as an aspiring film-maker, this movie held a lot more than a few laughs for me. I often found myself screaming obscenities along with Cecil’s misfit gang. Halt the mass distribution of mediocre films. Yeah! Bring assist the dream. Yeah!!! Family (as in “family films”) is honest another word for censorship! YEAH!!!!! Power to the people who punish abominable cinema! YEAH!!!!! Ok, so perhaps I need to obtain a life. This non-related sequel is so sweet-natured, so tame and family orientated that to select otherwise is completely ludicrous. There is nothing in this movie that could possibly rate it above a PG, max. I wouldn’t even have reservations letting younger children explore House 2.

One of the weaker aspects of this sequel is that it has more SFX and animation by Phil Tippet’s stop-motion workshop and less by Dreamquest. The matte paintings are splendid but the dated dinosaurs witness hokey in a few shots. If you can honest squint during these moments you won’t seek.

Bill Maher from TV’s “Politically Improper” even manages to demonstrate up as a music producer who is keen in Yasbeck and powerful suspicious of Jesse’s antics. John Ratzenberger (this makes both movies star one of the “Cheers” barflies) appears as a repairman/adventurer who assists Jesse and Charlie battle some Aztecs. Gawk out for Kane Hodder (Jason) in an ape costume. Jesse adopts a fluffy, runt baby pterodactyl and a odd creature called a Caterpuppy, a scandalous between…well you know. You need an inaugurate mind and a suspension of disbelief to swallow the snide goings on in this movie.

The commentary is better than the one on the first movie. Ethan Wiley and Cunningham acquire on well and have no quibbles pointing out how crazy the film is. They discuss the budget, suppose tales of the tedious Royal Dano and justify how many of the effects were pulled off within the constraints of the budget. One of the most lively things they mention is that even tho the movie was stuck in between The Color Purple and Beverly Hills Cop II the kids aloof preferred House 2 as their fave movie of the summer. But because the movie didn’t have it’s bear opening weekend, unlike the fresh, it wasn’t as successful. Didn’t discontinuance 2 more sequels being made. A theatrical trailer is also included.

Much like the first film the portray has been brilliantly transferred onto DVD. The 1.85:1 anamorphic record looks well-kept with very few glitches. Colors are rendered with friendly accuracy and you wouldn’t hold the low-budget origins when judging this portray. There is some grain during darker scenes but other than this the movie is looking immense.

The Mono soundtrack is not terribly spicy and most of the film’s sound is centre-channel biased. But there’s no issue or pop to difficulty about. It may be Mono but it’s smart and new sounding to me.

House 2: The Second Memoir is a sequel in name only to House. No, not that doctor guy. You know that movie where Katt Williams moves into a house with monsters in the closet and passages to alternate dimensions and stuff? Yeah, that one. Judging from the eerie looking house and the severed hand ringing the doorbell seen on the mask art of House 2, one would be inclined to deem that this would be another movie that mixes dread and comedy like the new. However, you may be surprised to catch out that House 2 really doesn’t incorporate any awe whatsoever. This is a straight up comedy/adventure movie that, if not for some cursing and alcohol references, would probably be trustworthy for family viewing.

Hawaii Five O Seasons 1-5 are simply apt. There aren’t too many people in my generation who were not glued to the family TV at 7:30pm on Tuesdays of regular season TV. It’s hard to represent what this point to did in Hawaii; however at 7:30pm each Tuesday the city of Honolulu stopped and people were glued to their sets at home, shopping, or in a retail store with a TV. To fair the technical info above, this DVD (both the special edition and movie-only edition) DOES HAVE an English monophonic soundtrack that was originally aged in the film. Also included is a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, but one wonders if a dialog-heavy film like this should really need a surround soundtrack. Dialogs in both the mono and the 5.1 tracks sound perfectly obvious and understable. The surround sound only comes into consume during the occasional music and gunfight sequences. I do applaud the inclusion of the unique mono track, which quite a few fresh DVDs of older movies do not provide in the hope of enticing current DVD owners with 5.1 audio.

The video transfer looks gigantic — images are involving, levels of shadowy see realistic (you can clearly recognize and feel the velvety texture of a gloomy robe Monroe wears), signs of wear and inch are virtually non-existent. The video is also non-anamorphic, so the resolution is not as high on a widescreen TV as it would be with an anamorphic DVD. I would have gladly paid a higher notice if they had included better supplementary material on the Special Edition DVD, such as the audio commentary and home movies that were build on the Criterion laserdisc made in the early 90s. The extras on the Special Edition DVD include a fascinating but superficial 30-minute current interview with Tony Curtis reminiscing about the film, a rather dumb 12-minute interview with the actresses who played the girl band members, a segment called “Virtual Hall of Memories” that is essentially a mild gallery, and trailers of 7 Wilder films including SOME LIKE IT HOT; all the trailers are in terrible video condition. The most moving extra is a reproduction of a pressbook for the film, but the pictures are blurry and the smaller text is illegible. I am disappointed that we never pick up to hear from Jack Lemmon or Billy Wilder, both mild alive, on this DVD. These extras are not impressive, so one may contemplate buying the movie-only edition for a cheaper sign.

Originally Marilyn Monroe lobbied to have the film shot in color which Billy Wilder felt wouldn’t work for this comedy (he persuaded her to agree to shoot in unlit and white when he showed her create up tests for Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis in color where their originate up as women made them scrutinize slightly green) while the film certainly would have looked broad in color the sumptuous cinematography by Charles Lang (“The Pretty Seven”, “Wait Until Dusky”) looks extremely obedient in this astonishing looking transfer. For those that are into such things the special features here are a big improvement over the previous edition. We find a commentary track compiled from comments by the gradual Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis and I.A.L. Diamond’s son (working with the comedy writers Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel–honestly I could have notion of better writers to pair with Diamond’s son) .
